I doubt Ron Evans would agree with you, after taking this catch of bream and tench earlier this year.
Unfortunately not all our venues are stocked to the same level as £7-10.00 per day commercial fisheries and some require a little more skill and knowledge than others,Skilts,Swan pool,Alvechurch and of course Bradley Green will all produce reasonable bags of fish to a variety of methods and levels of angling ablility,Wood bev,Cann lane and Abbots Salford all require a little more diversity of methods and are far more difficult for novice anglers to get to grips with but they are far from devoid of fish and many of our members prefer the odd day on a venue that presents more of a chalange.
It"s sad that you find these venues dissapointing and can only suggest you stick with the first 4 mentioned as I feel certain the 2 river venues will dissapoint you after the 16th June as although they both contain fish up to specimen propotions they are far from easy waters to get to grips with.

Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints.
Personally I don't understand what all the fuss is about when it comes to wood bev. A lot of time and money seems to of been spent on stocking and pegs when at some venues you can't walk on a platform because they are rotten.
I haven't fished there yet and don't plan on going any time soon. Weights seem to be low and people are always saying they don't catch.
That all said, the club is still good value for money even if you don't fish every venue.

This pool is not "dead" but requires more effort and the conditions need to be in the anglers favour. The reason we stock this pool is that all the fish in here belong to the club, which is not the case on other venues. We are not going to waste club funds stocking a farmers pool for him.
As for other pools and platforms we are going to do what we can with our resources and available funding, we try to secure long leases so as not to waste our efforts and funds if the venue owners wanted to severe the agreement.
Volunteers are always required to help for bank clearing and stand repair as well as the work that we pay for. Nothing comes cheap these days and there is a limit as to what we can afford each year. The committee have to prioritise where the money and effort is targetted based on a variety of factors.

As 3/4 of the earth is water and only 1/4 is land we should all spend 3 times as much time fishing as we do gardening
