Same as any river.

Is this your first time pike fishing on a river?

Ok, you don't need anything complicated, running lead, wire trace with 2 trebles.

As for bait, any natural deadbait such as roach, rudd etc. or get some sardines from your local supermarket.

Is this your first time pike fishing?

I have fished here and know of a few pike caught. Fish will move up and down river so there isn't really any pegs better than others.

Do you have the correct equipment to unhook a pike and would you be confident doing so?

I fish there with the bailiffs Dave and Pete, we would be more than willing to give you some advice on the bank as you haven't fished for pike before.

Thanks Aaron, appreciate that, I am going with my mate who has been before, fine with equipment and confident unhooking anything we are lucky enough to catch, I am trying to get a bit of a inside track on him,

Ok, i'll shut up then. :D

Some people go for the first time and panic when they catch damaging or killing the fish.

Just remember, they don't bite. :)

Best of luck.
