While I was there I chatted 5 or 6 chaps roaming the opposite bank after the pike and they told me that next weekend (Saturday and Sunday) the British Pike squad have got a match on the BAA bank. They are expecting about 50 anglers so it is something to bear in mind if anyone is planning on fishing the river or just fancies having a walk and watching the action.
