ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

Postby hurricane » Wed Jan 07, 2015 1:50 pm

This will be taking place as usual at the Rocklands social club on 09/02/2015.
Anyone who has suggestions they would like considered for inclusion on the agenda should put them in writing to the club secretary, Nigel Hill at least two weeks before the AGM.
As normal there will be a bar, buffet and a raffle.
Remember its your chance to help make decisions that affect the club.
Hope to see you all on the night.
ANY questions feel free to ask on here or to me direct if you prefer.
Regards Peter.

Could you ask about access to as river past the old hut? Impossible to get to even at start of season, the clubs paying for water it cant use.

Past the hut there is a 8ft width track cut right down to the end of the meadow but no pegs are cut out. This done twice a year and its done just before June 16th.
I love my job it pays for my fishing

I will disagree with you there as I mowed it like I have for a number of years and there is an 8ft track mowed along the top of the bank on the last meadow.

One of the problems is that so few members fish this stretch, and before anyone says,it wont get fished if there is no access,I have already bought that up.
Last year only a few weeks into the season most of the swims needed "trimming" again and the grass on the track was quite deep.
Bazz and I (mostly Bazz) tidied up a few pegs and a full day bank clearing d was arranged and notified via this forum, the website and our facebook page, despite this only 2 members bothered to make an effort along with Bazz and myself.
Chris will cut the grass again this year and we will arrange for a bank clearing day around the end July, but if the turnout is like last year, then the pegs in the meadow in question will again remain untouched.
We have ample tools(up to 5 strimmers) its volunteers that we are short of.

We don't get paid to do it. Why not just arrange a work party at the beginning of the season to clear it, the equipment is there as you say.

I might have a couple of things for the raffle, do I just bring them on the night?
