An evening session on Thrs at our stretch of the Avon produced this fine 11lb 4oz barbel for ABAC treasurer Stuart Sharp.

Reminder of the match booked at this venue on Sat 20th July.

The mayflies were plentiful as well.

All the shots were taken on a Sony alpha 200 slr fitted with a minolta 50m f2.8 macro lens.
The bee was 125sec at f7.1 iso 100 handheld and manual focus.

If like me,you have a fair jaunt to get to AS river section,check out the above link to live webcams on the river Avon its saved me a wasted journrey on a number of occasions.

The barbel did not want to play so apart from a few bream,perch and an eel,it left plenty of time to chase the wildlife with the camera.

The chef did us proud with a tasty curry.

And it all looked so good.
