Nick,
You can get guest tickets for all waters except the Evesham Vale syndicate as far as I am aware.

Any committee member should be able to provide a guest ticket, but I suggest your first ports of call be Paul Heath, Nigel Hill or Roger Burton.

Cheers,
Stu

Roy, It would be better for one of the carpers to give you an insight into this lake; I dont fish it much. It is generally a difficult big fish water, although there are some good carp (to 30lbs I believe) plus big tench and bream. There are also smaller silvers. Location (and patience) is key to ca...

Just by way of an update, the Angling Trust have recently published details of their "Building Bridges" campaign aimed at informing migrants that they need to obtain EA licences and day/membership tickets to fish; that close seasons are observed on rivers; and, importantly, not to steal, c...

Private messages

Webmaster Steve,

Is there a problem with the private messages function? I can reply to messages but I do not appear to be able to send a PM. They appear to just sit in my Outbox.

Cheers,
Stu

The Glorious 16th

With the new river season just over a week away, what are your plans for the opening day? Do you still take the day off and head to your favourite river or is the 16th just another insignificant day in your diary?

Work permitting I'll be out on the 16th, on one of our river fisheries....

The Angling Trust - Individual membership

I was wondering how many of our members know about the Angling Trust and how many have actually joined. I have put another thread on the board about why I feel that ABAC should join as a club member, but individuals should also join. The Trust is our representative body who fight for our rights and ...

The Angling Trust - Club membership

I appreciate that this may have to go to an EGM but can I suggest that the club joins the Angling Trust. I am making an assumption that ABAC is not a member at present as I could not find the club on the Angling Trust website. For those that do not know, the Angling Trust was formed in 2009 through ...

Jam, A few day tickets venues I would suggest (for days you want to try somewhere else) include; Alvechurch Fisheries Cob House Earlswood Larford Woodland View I particularly like Larford's speci lake and Earlswood's Windmill lakes as they are big waters with a mix of species, including slabs!

Roger, I had a fairly good afternoon session on the Avon yesterday (as I will be busy all weekend and working Monday). Fishing in the low numbers I had a nice net of chub and a solitary roach (which was around 1/2lb) chopping and changing between waggler & feeder fished bronze maggot and hemp. A...

Gents,
Apologies for not getting to the AGM this evening. The best laid plans went off the rails when I answered the phone just as I was about to get in the car. That'll teach me to do that! I have now spent the last hour dealing with a big problem in a charity I am involved.

Jon & Chris,

No worries guys, and having been reminded that it's an 8:30 kick-off I should be able to get there at, or very shortly after, the start.

See you later!

Steve,
It might be worth also displaying the dates/venues at the AGM and asking for members to sign up to commit to help on any particular date.

We know that the majority will not attend, or will not be able to attend, for various reasons, but if you are free I would suggest you pop along even if it's just for; To get an insight into any developments (you hear about new waters and new rules first at the AGM) To contribute to the direction an...
